Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected." - Steve Jobs"Don't limit yourself and don't let others convince you that you are limited in what you can do. Believe in yourself and then live as to reach your possibilities. You can achieve what you believe you can. Trust and believe and have faith." - Thomas S. Yes, a Jackrabbit. I attended College in Salem, Oregon at Chemeketa Community College then moved to Montana to continue my education at the University of Montana. This is my 10th year teaching at Frenchtown High School and I feel lucky and fortunate to work with an amazing and supportive staff, group of students, and in this community. My wife and I were married in 2014 and she is an incredible woman who brings a lot of support, happiness, and fun to my life. I have three children Matthew (19), Shannon (16) and Owen (9) that currently live in Alberta, Canada and I am able to go up and visit and/or have them come down every month. I recently graduated with my Master's degree from the University of Phoenix and am grateful for that opportunity and experience. In my spare time, I enjoy playing golf, traveling, swimming, cooking & baking, reading, spending time with my kids and wife, camping, hiking, playing and watching movies. We recently added a white labrador retriever (Tilly) to our family and she is a handful, but she is so cute and so much fun. I am looking forward to this year and in achieving some great things and in helping the students have a successful and fun experience.Classes I Teach:Frenchtown Academy for Career Education (F.A.C.E)YearbookJobs For Montana Graduates (JMG)
In 1990, the Montana Legislature provided funding for Jobs for Montana’s Graduates (JMG) to undertake the mission of assisting students to stay in school, graduate and successfully transition from into employment, post-secondary education, other training or the military.
JMG has positively affected over 15,000 students since its inception by providing them with the motivation and skills they need to complete high school and become productive citizens.
JMG students graduate prepared for life after high school by raising their expectations of themselves, investigating and selecting realistic career goals, learning and teaching leadership and teamwork skills, and acquiring workplace values and employability skills.
The ultimate objective of JMG at Frenchtown High School is for the students to secure a quality job and/or post secondary education that will lead to a meaningful career. JMG believes the best way to achieve this objective is to keep students in school through their graduation and to improve their rate of success by acquiring employability competencies before leaving high school. JMG is affiliated with Jobs for America’s Graduates (JAG) a national school-to-work program.
The goal of the Jobs for Montana’s Graduates program is to provide programs and services with demonstrated results to youth that often times face multiple barriers to success in the public education and workforce development systems, so that they graduate from high school and thereafter find and keep quality jobs, or continue with their education.
JMG Goals that we set in our classroom are designed to:
- Improve the student’s employability skills.
- Help the student develop and define career goals and plans for the years immediately following graduation.
- Help the student to successfully complete high school.
- Assist the student to develop confidence, poise and a positive attitude.
- Assist the student to acquire skills to successfully communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
- Stimulate the student’s initiative, teamwork and leadership skills.
- Promote within the student respect for the dignity of work.
- Assist the student to display a sense of social responsibility and civic involvement.
- Assist the student to develop strong coping and decision-making skills.
- Stimulate the student’s school spirit and interest in school activities.
- Help the student develop a feeling of pride in accomplishment.
- Provide opportunities for the student to develop personal goals and evaluate their progress toward attaining those goals.
