ART 2 -PAINTING
Students will create art using the Elements of Art and Principles of Design through the use of a variety of painting materials: acrylic, oil, airbrush, watercolor, and mixed media. Students will create projects utilizing a variety of painting methods, color theory, techniques, and artistic examples.
ART 3 - DRAWING
Students will create art using the Elements of Art and Principles of Design through the use of a variety of drawing media: pencil, colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink (calligraphy), scratchboard, and marker. Experience a variety of artistic examples and projects.
ART 8 - MEDIA ARTS
Students will use graphic design fundamentals along with multimedia productions such as: video, audio, text, graphics, animation and presentation programs. Students will use webpages, Prezi, PowerPoint, Adobe CS6 Photoshop, Premiere, Audition, Illustrator, In Design, Corel Draw, and other programs and devices as technology changes.
Art 9 - CARTOONING AND ANIMATION
Use your sense of humor to learn character development and storyboarding. Create cartoons and use Photoshop, then design animated projects. From Claymation to 3-D Animation; students will use a combination of programs like Flash, Animate and Adobe character builder, Anim8 or, Blender.
ART 10 - DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND BLACK AND WHITE FILM
Use digital and 35mm cameras to learn general photographic concepts, composition, and editing techniques. Learn and apply photo restoration, photo editing, and darkroom techniques. Upon completion, students will have created a portfolio of their images.
ART 11 - VIDEO PRODUCTION
A little Film Appreciation will introduce students to the film industry and history of cinema. Emphasis will be placed on a wide variety of styles and genres. Students will make a lot of movies. Learn to shoot, capture, and edit, create title credits, music and sounds effects.
ART 12 - ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY
Successful completion of INTRO TO ART, AND AT LEAST 2 OF THE FOLLOWING-MEDIA ARTS, CARTOONING AND ANIMATION, VIDEO PRODUCTION, PHOTOSHOP and DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
ART 13 - PHOTOSHOP
This course is designed to give students an understanding of how to apply Photoshop to perform many different image-processing techniques. Adobe Photoshop is the one program that everyone in every area of digital media should know. Through project work, students will learn how to use tools for selecting parts of images, retouching, layers, special filters, painting, and animation.
