    Biography
     
    Brendan McGlynn is a native of Missoula and attended the University of Montana, where he majored in trumpet performance. From there he went to graduate school at the University of Nebraska, where he received his Masters and Doctorate degrees. Previously, he was the K-8 music teacher at DeSmet Public School, where he taught six general music classes, two bands and one choir. Mr. McGlynn was Visiting Assitant Professor at the University of Hawaii-Hilo during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mr. McGlynn taught elementary music theory, History of Jazz and directed the instrumental ensemble at UHH.
    Mr. McGlynn currently is principal trumpet of the Missoula Symphony, lead trumpet in the Ed Norton Big Band and enjoys teaching privately and playing in a variety of other settings around Montana. He is married with two kids.
