Welcome to my classroom website. I'm Mr. Tanner Curey and I am a Business & Technology Teacher at Frenchtown High and Junior High Schools. This semester (Fall 2018) I am teaching Accounting, Computer Applications (Grades 8 & 9), Sports Marketing, and 7th grade keyboarding. I also am the Assistant Boys Soccer Coach this season.

I earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration - Marketing with a minor in Geography, as well as a Master's in Education - Curriculum & Instruction, both from from The University of Montana. I recently completed my student teaching at an International School in India. I have a passion for traveling and exploring world cultures. I have also spent a year living in Australia and have had the privilege of traveling to various parts of Asia, Latin America, and Europe. During my free time I enjoy snowboarding, surfing, biking, tennis, soccer, and going to concerts. This is my first year at Frenchtown and I'm excited to be a part of the Frenchtown community.Class DescriptionsComputer Applications 1: This required course for 8th & 9th graders involves in depth study of editing, formatting, and controlling text; Word features, formatting text, paragraphs, and documents; working with graphics, sorting, inserting tables, headers, footers, and sections; increasing Word efficiency using templates, and shortcuts helpful in a workplace and college setting. Additionally, students use Excel spreadsheet, to include creating, organizing and enhancingworksheets with hyperlinks, graphs, and pictures. Finally, PowerPoint is used to create, edit, and enhance presentations through pictures, media, and videos. (Counts towards practical arts credit requirement)Accounting 1: Provides a basic understanding of the eight steps in the accounting cycle of a sole proprietorship and partnership; students are able to interpret information, organize information, analyze, classify necessary information appropriately, in order to prove, justify, and discuss accounting activities. Once students have mastered accounting methods manually, they will begin using an automated system. Students may also take this course for college credit and gain confidence in their ability to be successful at the college level. Missoula College is providing this opportunity at a substantially reduced rate.(Counts towards practical arts credit requirement)Sports Marketing: A one-semester course. This class focuses on marketing for sports. You will use your creativity and ingenuity to apply the 4 P's of marketing (product, price, promotion, and place) with a sports emphasis. Get ready to work hard and learn valuable skills while having fun!(Counts towards practical arts credit requirement)Keyboarding: A required 7th grade course in which students acquire and enhance their touch-keyboarding skills and improve basic computer literacy. Emphasis is placed on keyboarding skills and introduction of formatting (reports, letters, tables, memos, etc.) as well as creating, formatting, saving, editing files on a network, and file management. This is a lab class - all work is completed on computers used during class.
