Hello! My name is Ms. Patch and this is my second year teaching in the Frenchtown School District. Last year, I taught 7th grade life science and this year I am excited to teach biology, biomed, and chemistry! I grew up in Augusta, Montana and I attended school at Carroll College where I got degrees in Biology, Chemistry, and Secondary Education. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, floating the river, kayaking, going to concerts, and traveling with friends and family.

    Why I Teach

When I first went to college, I thought I was going to go into the healthcare field, but this plan changed when I started working at an elementary school as a reading and math tutor for first graders. This job helped me realize how much I enjoy teaching and how special the relationships you can build through education are. As a result, I decided to blend my love for science and education together to become a secondary science teacher.

    Class Description(s)

Chemistry: this is a course designed to help students understand basic chemical processes and problem solving. We will learn about atomic theory, bonding, stoichiometry, unit conversion, acids and basis, and nuclear chemistry.

    Online Learning

As we start on our online learning extravaganza, all resources will be posted on Google Classroom. We have used Google classroom throughout the year, so all students should be familiar with this platform. In case you don't have the code specific to your section, here is a list of them:

    1B Biology: wrblkas

    2A Biomed: c7inhlc

    3A Biology: druvpus

    3B Biomed: s7gclfv

    4A Biology: jxd3kde

    4B Chemisty: gpsh2dx

All assignments, notes, activities, etc. moving forward will be posted on Google classroom. If this is not a realistic option for you, please contact me by email or by writing your name on the list outside of my door during the open hours on March 20th. I would be happy to put together physical packets for you to take home or to brainstorm other possible options.

I will have office hours daily from 9:00 am-12:00 pm and will continue working from home around 12:30 pm. Please let me know if these times will not work for you, I am very happy to set up additional times to help or answer questions.

If you have any missing assignments to turn in, please take a picture of them and email them to me. You are welcome to physically turn them in on March 20th if you would like, but I would encourage you to take a picture so I can give you feedback that you will have access to immediately online.

You guys are awesome, and I appreciate you all being flexible as we try out online learning. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me through email or Google classroom.
