Frenchtown Middle School was well represented at the state FLL Lego Robotics competition held February 26th in Bozeman. Both the 6th grade team, the Shark Gangstaz, and the 8th grade team, the Lightning Commando Squad, advanced from the qualifier meet held February 5th. At the state competition, the Shark Gangstaz had strong robot runs and a great presentation showcasing their innovative project, a secure rural package locker that would increase safety for package delivery drivers, as well as protecting packages from theft. The 8th graders also had strong robot runs and impressed the judges with their innovative project, reusable mailing pouches made from recycled jeans and dog food bags that could reduce package waste by up to 50 percent. Their robot runs, innovative project, along with their demonstration of the FLL core values, earned them the runner-up Champion's Award. This means that they took 2nd place overall out of 52 teams across the state!
6th grade team members are Ean Johnson, Kyla Languanet, Tripp Larson, Zen Peters, Lily Tucker, and Tsimmeej Yang. 8th grade team members are Alyssa Bilbrey, Aleah Knight, Ellie Languanet, Tru Peters, Cooper Stark, and Emma Schwartz. The teams were coached by Dalene Normand.

Senior Night for High School Girls Basketball and Boys Basketball is Saturday February 12th at 4pm in the High School Gym.

Double Exposure Photography will be at the school on Tuesday, February 15th taking pictures of any students that didn’t get their pictures taken last fall or want to do retakes.
This will include Fall Sports Team Pictures (No Individual Pictures) for MS Football, XC, Volleyball, and Soccer.
Each student will have 3 portraits taken that will be available for viewing.

Corvallis Schools are closed today due to road conditions, so the 7th/8th grade girls basketball games are cancelled today. We are looking to reschedule. They will practice after school from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
