Mr. Robbins provided an opportunity for our 6th graders! February 11th is recognized as Girls in Science Day. The purpose of the day is to bring awareness to our young people, especially our girls, about careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Our 6th graders were fortunate to have two female doctors join us for an interview via Google Classroom. Dr. Allison Didychuk is an assistant professor of molecular biophysics and biochemistry at Yale University and Dr. Haley Mertens is a Gastroenterology Fellow at the University of Michigan.
These two ladies shared what their jobs look like, along with some of the inspirations that led them to where they are and what they do. Both doctors are undergrads from the University of Jamestown in North Dakota. Our students also were able to write and ask them some questions to learn more about the work, schooling, experiments, and more that the two doctors have gone through. While Drs. Mertens and Didychuk are clearly very intelligent and work in some pretty advanced fields, they did a great job purveying information in a manner that allowed our students to understand and hopefully inspired many of them to explore the great avenues that STEM provides.

National FFA Week was February 16 th -20 th . To celebrate, the FFA students gave back to the staff of Frenchtown High School for providing support for the FFA throughout the year. Tomorrow, February 5th, we celebrate our senior basketball players and swimmer! Come celebrate these accomplished athletes as they play one of their final games on their home court. They will be announced before the start of the varsity boys game set to begin at 7:30. Go Broncs!
Our senior wrestlers will hit their home mat one final time. Come cheer on these hardworking kids and their teammates on Wednesday February 4th. We'll celebrate our seniors before the event starting at 5:00. Go Broncs!
We had five qualifiers for the state meet in Corvallis. They will compete January 30-31st. Go Broncs!

If your student rides Bus 2 (AM/PM), Bus 3 (AM), Bus 4 (AM/PM), Bus 5 (AM/PM), or Bus 11 (PM), please watch for an email, a letter sent home with your student, and updated bus information in the mail.
These changes will go into effect on February 9. We are doing our best to provide as much advance notice as possible. Letters will be sent home with students on Monday, February 2.
