Throwback Thursday! Where are the now! In 1983, Mark Meagher graduated from Frenchtown and is currently enjoying his time in retirement. What are some of his highlights since graduating? Well, he worked for a successful company for 37 years and was able to move around the Pacific Northwest as a business manager. He has been happily married since 19 year old! He has three wonderful children and 6 amazing grandchildren! He enjoys spending time with family, hunting, fishing, and just being outdoors. What did he love about Frenchtown when he was going to school here? Loved the small town feel, sports, and extra-curricular activities. His advice to current Frenchtown students? Do everything you can. You will be glad you did later in life! Thanks Mark!

Throwback Thursday! Where are they now? This 1984 FTSD graduate is retired! So, with that said, what were some of Desiree Meagher’s highlights after graduating from Frenchtown? Well, she graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle for one. She has been married to her high school sweet heart Mark Meagher for 37 years! They have three amazing daughters, three great son-in-laws and six wonderful grandchildren. They are living their retirement years in their dream house on the Noxon Reservoir. What did Desiree love about her time in Frenchtown Schools? She loved the extra-curricular activities, basketball, cheerleading, drama, and the wonderful friends she made for life. Many of them she started in kindergarten with! Her advice for the current students at Frenchtown is to get involved in everything you can, don’t be afraid to fail or look silly. Every experience, good or not so good, will help prepare you for life. Thanks for participating Mrs. Meagher!

A student-organized and student-led 8th grade group, Book Club has grown quickly and creatively. Students meet regularly to share their favorite books, read in pairs or small groups, and have passionate debates about characters and plots. Meeting as a group allows students to spend time with other readers that they may not connect with throughout the regular school day. Between the library, the classroom, and settings out of this world, students share their time and their ideas to make Book Club happen.

Where are they now? Flashback Friday! Mark Hausknecht, a 2002 FTSD graduate, is a Conga-Partner Solution Architect! Some of Mark’s highlights include traveling and working with a variety of companies such as Google, Southwest Airlines, and Harvard Publishing. He has been married for thirteen years, has four kids and they all are attending Frenchtown Schools! When asked about what he loved about his time in Frenchtown, Mark talks about knowing the people he went to school with for his whole life and how he is still close with some of them today. He likes the town culture and appreciates how everyone is willing to help each other if needed. He has some good advice for the current students of FTSD: always set goals. If you have a goal to work towards, you will always succeed in life. Sound advice for sure! Thanks Mr. Hausknecht for participating!
