Mamma Mia!

To the Frenchtown Community - From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the outpouring of love and generosity this past weekend to celebrate the 1st Annual Bette Paskey Memorial Softball Tournament. While certainly bittersweet, the weekend was uplifting and full of beautiful stories to remember her by. We were truly touched to see so many turn out to celebrate her and her endless contributions to this wonderful town we are fortunate to live and have grown up in. Thank you again for your kind actions and words - we could not ask for better neighbors and supporters.
The Paskey Family

The Frenchtown Intermediate and Elementary GT group participated in the RISE Big Sky Challenge. The challenge was to identify natural hazards in our community and come up with a plan to prepare for or respond to those hazards. Our group's project was to help families prepare emergency kits to carry in their cars so that if they are stranded in severe weather or have to evacuate in an emergency, they will be prepared. The students had a table at the Science Palooza where people could put together their emergency kits with a first aid kit, emergency blanket, flashlight, bottled water, and a snack. They were able to provide emergency kits to over 100 people. They presented their project at the challenge summit on April 28th in Missoula and took 2nd place, beating several high school teams. Besides receiving implementation funds for the kits, they won an $800 prize! Students participating in the challenge are: Elliette Kruschke, Huxley Free, Josie Sallee, Brayden Moran, Jackson Tucker, Henley Harris, Brady Nygard, Braden Sullivan, and Clay Lewis.

Congratulations to the students, staff, and community of Frenchtown! This is a high school award; however, it should be recognized as a Frenchtown School District award. This recognition wouldn't be possible without the work and dedication of students, staff, and parents supporting these high school students as they traveled through the K-8 years. Good job all!

Early Kindergarten Registration (4 years old by Sept 10) is currently open for the 2022-2023 school year. Determination of acceptance is based on board policy 1010FE. Kindergarten Registration (5 years old by Sept 10) is currently open for the 2022-2023 school year.

Big Sky Documentary Film Festival and Filmmakers in the Schools at Frenchtown High School!
Each year, during the week of the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival in Missoula, the Filmmakers in the Schools program coordinates with local school districts to bring age-appropriate and classroom-relevant documentary selections and in-person Q+As with filmmakers to students, providing them the space to ask questions and make local connections to global stories. Throughout the day on Friday, February 25th, Frenchtown High School teachers had the opportunity to bring classes to the auditorium to view a diverse selection of films, stories, and perspectives and to engage in dialogue over content and the filmmaking process with filmmakers.
The filmmakers absolutely LOVED the Q+A and were so impressed by the questions and dialogue that came from our students! Everyone was respectful and attentive, eager to learn from one another. It was an awesome experience for everyone! Thank you to Ms. Shelkey, Ms. Gentry, and Ms. Matter for organizing this great event for FTSD students!
