Title Programs - Overview

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB Act) reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA). The ESEA provides federal aid to our nation’s schools. Montana OPI: ESEA Title Programs : http://opi.mt.gov/Programs/TitlePrgms/

Frenchtown Public Schools qualify for the following ESEA Federal Entitlements:

Title II, Part A, Improving Teacher Quality

Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology

Title III, Part A, Language Acquisition and Enhancement

Description

Title I, Part A, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) provides local educational agencies (LEAs, or school districts) with extra resources to help improve instruction in high-poverty schools and ensure that all children have the same opportunities to meet challenging State academic standards.

The purpose of Title II Part A, is to raise student achievement by improving the quality of teachers in the classroom. Any activity funded with ESEA funds must result in a measurable increase in student achievement.

The program goal of Title II Part D, is to improve student academic achievement through the use of technology in elementary and secondary schools.

The purpose of Title III, Part A, is to help ensure that LEP (Limited English Proficient) students become proficient in English and attain state standards.
