Sixth Grade Basket Project

The day before the Thanksgiving break, sixth graders learned about the creation of Native American baskets.  After learning about this tradition and the cultural importance of them, students were able to showcase their newly developed skills by creating baskets of their own.  For some, it came very easily.  For others, it took a bit more practice.  6th grader Kameron J. stated, “At first it was really hard, but it got easier and a lot more fun.”  Another 6th grader, Nola P., claimed, “It was so fun once I got the hang of it.”  All and all, it was a great day filled with excitement and cultural learning.
